Nakadzsima és Rosberg összevetése az első három futam után
Williams – Nico Rosberg v Kazuki Nakajima
Qualifying: Rosberg (3-0)
Race: Rosberg (3-0)
Points: Rosberg 7, Nakajima 3
For the past two seasons, Nico Rosberg has been Williams’ star turn. The squad know it. Team mate Kazuki Nakajima knows it. And, so far this season, the score board proves it. Rookie Nakajima was drafted in as a replacement for Alexander Wurz at the end of 2007, but right from the start the more seasoned German driver became defacto team leader. And it’s clearly a role the 22 year-old has relished, outpacing Nakajima in every qualifying session and outperforming him in every race. But Rosberg’s successes (including his podium in Australia) shouldn’t belittle Nakajima’s achievements. The 23 year-old Toyota protege has enjoyed several mature performances over the last three events, even keeping a cool-head in the dramatic Australian race to pick up three points. If his spin in Malaysia and poor start in Bahrain are anything to go by, he’s still learning the ropes, but he has the potential to occasionally upset the apple cart.
What next? There’s no denying Rosberg’s talent and if the FW30 regains its Australian form, more podiums for the German could follow. Nakajima, meanwhile, should continue to flourish under his team mate’s wings and bag a few more points in the process.

Following in their fathers’ Formula One tire tracks

Nakajima, 23, whose father, Satoru, raced in Formula One from 1987 to 1991, agreed that his family name and contacts helped provide him with what is essential for young drivers to succeed among the growing hordes of aspiring drivers today.
“It’s always good to have some different identity compared to other drivers,” said Nakajima. “Yeah, Nico Rosberg has a similar one, but it’s always easier to get more attention from fans or media.”
He said many of his father’s fans still watch the sport and naturally follow him. Echoing the other drivers, he said he did not feel pressure from that, but only increased possibilities.
Nakajima was also helped into the Williams team by the team’s use of a Toyota engine, as Kazuki is a Toyota protégé.

In the name of the father

His team-mate is Nakajima, the son of Satoru Nakajima, who raced in almost 80 Grands Prix from 1987-1991 and was one of the first Japanese drivers to hold down a regular place in the world championship.

Nakajima featured in the last race of the 2007 season at Interlagos, having replaced Alexander Wurz at Williams.
It was a memorable occasion for the 23-year-old from Aichi, who finished 10th after starting in 19th place despite having run over members of his pit crew during an over-enthusiastic pit stop.
He has already had to fight off allegations that his drive was secured due to Williams’ partnership with Japanese engine suppliers Toyota.
“I believe the drive has come from my performances,” said Nakajima.
